8 Step Process Overview

For residential construction projects, we have an eight-step process that we go through to bring a project from the first discussion to final completion. Not all of the steps apply to all projects. Most will apply to new build projects, however, as well as to larger renovation projects.

Below is an overview of the eight-step process, but you can read about it in more detail on our Building Process page.

01

1

Design Consultation

We’ll arrange a meeting with you where we will find out what you want to achieve. From this meeting, initial sketches can be created. You can work with an architect you have selected, or we can recommend one.

02

2

Estimates

We’ll use our expert knowledge of the residential construction industry to provide estimates for the cost of building your home based on the sketches that have been created. You can then make a decision about moving to the next stage.

03

3

Architectural Plans

Your architect will create working drawings. Engineering requirements will also be specified, and materials will be selected during this stage.

04

4

Costings and Timeframe

Detailed costs will be worked out, and we will provide you with a comprehensive quote. We’ll also give you a timeline for the project. Once you confirm you are happy to proceed and have signed the contract, we’ll give you a Master Builders guarantee.

05

5

Building Consents

Any necessary building consents will be applied for and obtained at this stage.

06

6

Project Starts

Work ill start on-site, with all aspects of the construction looked after by our skilled in-house team and trusted list of sub-contractors.

07

7

Project Management

This step runs simultaneously with Step 6, as we’ll fully project manage the build. This includes putting project insurance in place, setting milestones, and communicating with you effectively.

08

8

Project Completion

After a final quality control check and walk-through with you, your dream home will be ready to move into.
